Despite the fact that the US trails the world in the growth of social media such as blogging,
social networking and video-sharing (according to this article), some marketers seem to be pouring money into
social networks. A recent iMedia poll (covered in eMarketer) showed that while one-third of US marketers
planned to spend less than $300,000 on social network marketing this year,
nearly 30% of the more leading edge variety plan to spend more than $2 million
in 2008.
