Advertising of 2007
This link comes in more than a month too late but, as always, better late than never. BusinessWeek posted a special report on marketing, branding and advertising - looking back at 2007 and forward to 2008.
The report starts with Advertising of 2007, which states that, for one thing, 2007 wasn't exactly a stellar year for advertising as a whole. While certain areas flourished, there were a host of misfires and missteps in the months in between. The continued industry uncertainty is prompting a return to old-school values, with advertising emphasizing the quality and benefits a business can offer its consumer. It's also an opportunity for businesses to move away from the traditional advertising business model, which for years concentrated on a few lucrative outlets such as TV or radio, as 2007 was the year in which digital technology finally lived up to its promise.
It continues with a slide show on Global Ad Trends, a discussion on Advertising of 2007 in the US, UK, Australia and China, and (as a side note) Innovations Predictions 2008. Enjoy!
