Retail & CPG Branding Round-up

This time, a round-up of a few articles on the subject of traditional and online branding, all (!) from eMarketer:
  • Traditional Media Best for Branding - More than four in 10 consumers surveyed rated TV excellent or very good for building brand awareness, while 31% gave such ratings to magazines, 29% to newspapers and nearly one-quarter to radio. Meanwhile, emerging media channels "have a long way to go in terms of delivering effective advertising."

  • Online Branding Part 1 and Online Branding Part 2 - Excerpts from the September 2007 ad:tech London panel titled "Thoughts on Online Branding and Measurement."

  • Search Marketing for Branding - “While search marketing has long been recognized as an effective direct response vehicle, it’s been largely overlooked by CPG companies who focus on brand advertising and promotional efforts to drive in-store purchasing."

  • CPG Searches Creating Brand Advocates - Searchers looking for information about consumer packaged goods (CPG) are more likely to share brand recommendations with friends and family than are searchers looking for other information.
