Coupon Nation

More than 100 years after their introduction, coupons have a continuing hold over a certain consumer segment. According to the NRF, 20% of customers say they use coupons regularly (some may call it an addiction...) Today in RetailWire, the discussion centers on the state of the coupon business and whether it is possible to wean consumers off of them in light of the experiences of retailers like Macy's who have tried to do away with coupons and have seen their sales suffer. .
